Cheesy Potatoes with Kielbasa in the Slow Cooker

Serves 6 in about 6 hours. The pot starts with cream chicken soup, then cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 10-ounce can cream of chicken soup or try my homemade
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese, divided
  • 1 13-ounce package kielbasa or smoked sausage (cut in half-moon chunks)
  • 1 32-ounce bag frozen diced hash brown potatoes

Method

  1. To a large bowl, add the soup, milk, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper. Stir well.
  2. Mix in the diced onion, half of the shredded cheese, and kielbasa. Stir well.
  3. Next, add the diced hash browns and mix together.
  4. Tip in the mixture to a greased slow cooker (or use a slow cooker liner).
  5. Scatter remaining cheese over the top.
  6. Put a lid on and cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for about 3-4 hours.
