Pressure Cooker Buttered Cabbage

Serves 6 in about 10 minutes. The pot starts with low sodium chicken.

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup low sodium chicken broth (use 1/2 cup for small head of cabbage)
  • 6 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 head green cabbage, chopped into 1"-2" pieces
  • ½ teaspoon salt (or more/less to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon pepper (or more/less to taste)

Method

  1. Stir in the broth and butter to the pot.
  2. Stir in the chopped cabbage.
  3. Close the lid and set the steam release knob to the Sealing position.
  4. Press the Pressure Cook/Manual button or dial, then the +/- button or dial to select 5 minutes. High Pressure. The pot will take several minutes to come to pressure.
  5. When the cook cycle has finished, turn off the pot and let it sit undisturbed for 3 minutes (3 instant natural release). Then turn the steam release knob to the Venting position to release the remaining steam/pressure.
  6. When the pin in the lid drops back down, open the lid.
  7. Tip in the salt and pepper. Mix and serve!
