Candy Corn Turkey Thanksgiving Cupcakes with Bottle Googly Eyes

Serves 24 in about 1 hour. Cake mix goes in first, and tub frosting finishes the pot.

Ingredients

  • 1 (15.25 oz) cake mix
  • 3 lg eggs (or amount your mix calls for)
  • 1 cup water (or amount your mix calls for)
  • ⅓ cup vegetable oil (or amount your mix calls for)
  • 24 paper cupcake liners
  • 1 (16 oz) tub frosting
  • 1 bag candy corn
  • 1 bottle small googly eyes

Method

  1. Warm oven to 350° F.
  2. Stir cake mix according to package instructions.
  3. Line 2 (12-cup) muffin tins with the cupcake liners.
  4. Fill cupcake liners about 2/3 full. Use all of the cake batter. It's okay if they are a little fuller than 2/3.
  5. Cook 13 to 17 minutes (or time stated on box), or until a toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.
  6. Leave it to cool in the pans for 30 minutes. Then remove the cupcakes to a wire rack to finish cooling.
  7. Smooth some frosting on each cupcake to cover tops. Then arrange the candy eyes and candy corn on the cupcake to make the turkeys.
  8. Use 5 or 6 candy corns for the tail feathers, and one with the pointy side down for the beak. Set the eyes just above the beak. Or get creative!
