Serves 10 in about 45 minutes. The oven brings refrigerated crescent rolls* and mustard together.
Ingredients
- 10 hot dogs
- 1 (8 oz) can refrigerated crescent rolls*
- 10 (1/4") slices of american cheese (or thinly cut cheddar)
- Mustard
- Mayo
Method
- Warm oven to 375° F.
- Take the hot dogs out of the package and dry them using paper towels. keep it nearby.
- Carefully unroll the crescent dough. Don't separate the triangles. Separate at the perforations that are after every 2 triangles, so you have a rectangle (made of 2 triangles). You will have 4 total rectangles.
- On each rectangle, gently pinch together the perforation between the 2 triangles so it is a smooth rectangle of dough.
- Cut the dough lengthwise into ten 1/4" strips. You will end up with forty 1/4" strips of dough total.
- Wrap 4 strips around each hot dog, stretching the strip a little, leaving some gaps where the hot dog shows through. You can even leave a gap near the top to put in some eyes!OPTIONAL: Place a slice of cheese on one side of the hot dog and wrap the dough "bandages" around to hold cheese in place.
- Set them on an ungreased baking sheet (cheese side down, if using cheese).
- Cook 13 to 17 minutes or until dough is light golden brown.
- Plate immediately with dipping sauce of your choice.
