Buffalo Chicken Wings in the Air Fryer

Serves 5 in about 36 minutes. An air fryer recipe built around baking powder and butter.

Ingredients

  • 10 chicken wings
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • ½ cup hot sauce
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter

Method

  1. Tip in the chicken wings to a mixing bowl, then add the flour, baking powder, onion powder, garlic powder and salt. Toss together, making sure that all of the wings are coated.
  2. Heat the air fryer at 400°F for 5 minutes.
  3. Shake off any excess flour into the mixing bowl and arrange the chicken wings in the air fryer tray. Do not crowd them on the tray. Simmer in batches if necessary.
  4. Simmer the chicken wings for 18-20 minutes at 400°F, turning the chicken wings over at 10 minutes.
  5. In a small saucepan add the honey, hot sauce and butter.
  6. Simmer for 3-4 minutes on a lively medium heat, stirring continuously.
  7. Take the chicken wings out of the Air Fryer and transfer them to a mixing bowl. Tip in the Buffalo sauce over the cooked wings. Coat the chicken wings with the hot sauce mixture then place on a serving dish.
  8. Plate with your favorite dipping sauce. We like Blue cheese dressing and ranch.
